Purpose of this site -

It is the goal of this site to provide factual and accurate information for municipalities and the fire service in order that appropriate decisions can be made in a variety of situations.  Recently, municipal monitoring has come under attack by the private central station industry.  This attack is being waged on a variety of fronts and information being disseminated has inaccuracies and statements that are clearly one sided.  Numerous comments and allegations are being made that are slanted toward private alarm contractors.  Many of these attacks are being leveled against policies and procedures used by municipalities that have been in place for decades and in some cases dating as far back as the 1960's.

Inflammatory and inaccurate statements are being made by private alarm contractors, alarm central station operators and alarm industry associations.  Unfortunately, several alarm industry publications have picked up on the rhetoric and are publishing the inaccuracies as though they are actual facts.

Wherever possible, throughout this website, we will embed links to sources for factual information and, when available, provide documentation which will support the municipal alarm monitoring position.

As with most issues, there are two sides to be heard and, in many cases, the only voice that is heard is the one that is speaking the loudest.  We are attempting to provide a much needed balance and to offer a voice to the municipal side that doesn't have funds and budgets to hire professional lobbyists or publicists to create talking points and develop campaigns to support their cause.
